Sacred Gypsy Flamenco
Awakening the Desert Gypsy

Sacred Flamenco is based on Flamenco in its origins, danced barefoot and with its Gypsy, Hebrew, Hindu and oriental influences, with a dance-therapeutic and holistic approach.

It is my natural expression to dance Flamenco barefoot. Although I have received many years of training and adore the elaborate footwork with my elegant flamenco shoes, I love the freedom and the lyricism of dancing barefoot. For me Gypsy Flamenco is the Dance of Freedom, Sovereignty, of the Dragon Energy and of Sarah Tamar. There is nothing more powerful for transmuting your energies than dancing barefoot and having your feet rhythmically make love to the land.

In Sacred Flamenco, as we dance barefoot, the body is an instrument for receiving and grounding the Divine Creative Channel.

Dance is a spiritual practice in so many ways. Dance teaches us discipline and grace. Our bodies learn to move in new ways, thus allowing us to see life in different perspectives. Dance is inclusive and interconnectedness is its nature. The beauty of Flamenco is that it grounds us and allows us to see the beauty in our daily lives. Flamenco is a great Spiritual Practice for manifesting and for understanding the organic laws of manifestation. Flamenco is the Earth and the Heart uniting in Sacred Matrimony.

The voice of the Dance Language in Sacred Flamenco is inspired by the ancestral roots of this Art Form. Spanish Dancing can be documented back to the Roman Empire. For example, the Puellae Gaditanae were dancers from the south of Spain who took Rome by surprise. They used finger cymbals, elaborate footwork and undulating movements similar to those found in Belly Dancing.

With the establishment of Christianity, the Puellae Gaditanae were forbidden by the Emperor Theodosious as they were seen as too sensual. Another dance that was also forbidden was the ZAMBRA. This was a traditional dance of the Nastrid Kingdom of Granada.

Another very popular dance was the Dancing with the Tambourine, with Sepharidic, Gypsy and Moorish roots.

Flamenco was always danced barefoot until the 20th century. Dancing barefoot was beginning to be seen as an expression of poverty as we slowly started to disconnect ourselves from MOTHER EARTH. As Flamenco started to have a more theatrical expression, shoes slowly became part of the dance language.

Part of my lineage is Sephardic through my mother´s line and dancing Flamenco in its true expression awakens so many different cultures within me as I hope this will do the same for you.

Sarah Tamar is the Light Being and Patron when we are in the Practice of Sacred Flamenco.

According to various legends, during a persecution of early Christians, commonly placed in the year 42, Lazarus, his sisters Mary Magdalene and Martha, Mary Salome (the mother of the Apostles John and James), Mary Jacobe and Maximin were sent out to sea in a boat. They arrived safely on the southern shore of Gaul at the place later called Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Many people, as I, believe that Sarah Tamar, the daughter of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua, also was traveling in the boat, as well as other disciples.

There is a beautiful legend of Sarah the Kali, that she was of noble birth and was chief of her Gypsy tribe on the banks of the Rhone. She knew many secrets and mysteries that had been transmitted to her.The Rom, Gypsies, once a year took out on their shoulders the statue of Ishtari [Astarte] and went into the sea to receive benediction there. One day Sarah the Gypsy had visions which informed her that the Saints who had been present at the death of Yeshua would come, and that she must help them. Sarah saw all of them arrive in a boat. The sea was rough, and it is said that Sarah threw her dress on the waves and, using it as a raft, she floated towards the Saints and helped them reach land.

I absolutely love this legend. Many other people believe that Sarah la Kali is actually Sarah Tamar. Whichever legend reaches you, know that there is a strong connection between Sarah Tamar and this beautiful Gypsy Princess Sara la Kali.

Gypsies connect to the land and all things of our planet, like oils, herbs, crystals, the magic within this earthly realm and all of its dimensions. This is actually very important for Sarah Tamar as one of her tasks as a Light Being in the Spiral of the Rosa Mystica is to upgrade the frequency of our planet by reminding us, that we live here, that we have decided to come here, and that their are guardians, spirits and medicine that our Planet Earth wants us to use. Sarah Tamar wants us to be in Sacred Partnership with the Earth. Once we know how to speak the language of Gaia, Sarah Tamar will help merge the Matrix of Planet Earth with its new frequency with the Golden Cosmic Matrix she has been weaving for some time.

Gypsy Dancing has a very strong connection to the Earth, helps us ground, manifest, purify our blood, love our roots, strengthens our connection with the Earth Star Chakra and helps us live our Destiny. Gypsy Dancing is also connected to the Gypsy Wheel, one of the symbols I work with when I work with Sarah Tamar. The Gypsy Wheel represents the unification of all tribes that came to planet earth.

Ultimately, Gypsy Dancing awakens your sovereignty, makes us confident and connects us to Rhythm. Yeshua spoke of how important it is to align with Rhythm so that we can start to understand our own inner Rhythm. This workshop will take us to dance, drum and chant to the ancient Desert Rhythm Solea.

Many years ago I joined gypsies from all over the world and headed to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in the South of France to pay homage to Saint Sarah. According to oral tradition, Sarah was a gypsy who lived in a small seaside town and she received Mary Magdalene and those traveling with her by boat as they escaped persecution by the Romans.

The Vatican has never canonized Saint Sarah, yet her statue is carried in procession as far as the sea, through narrow streets filled with roses. This celebration is so beautiful and it involves music, dancing, feasting, singing, praying and being in community.

It is easy to identify Sarah as another of the many Black Madonnas to be found in the world. It is said that Sara-la-Kali came from a noble Gypsy lineage and that she knew the secrets of the world. For me she is a Black Madonna, a powerful Manifestation of the Goddess of Creation.

It is believed that Sarah Tamar, the daughter of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua, arrived to France with her Mother Mary Magdalene along with the other refugees. Some believe that Sara la Kali and Sarah Tamar are the same person, and some believe that they are different. It really doesn´t matter as Sarah Tamar is within Sara La Kali and and Sara la Kali is within Sarah Tamar. They both represent the Gypsy Codes of Liberation.

We all know that Gypsies are free and are known for transgressing the established norms. Through this Gypsy Frequency Sarah Tamar teaches us the importance of love above all the prohibitions and taboos that we know so well, as they have been handed down to us through generations. Any time there is a group of people who seek soul sovereignty over control, Sarah Tamar is there to guide us. She teaches us that yes, the Holy Books are important and encoded with hidden messages, yet the cult of nature contains far more wisdom as the Divine Mother, the Goddess, is in everything and everything is part of HER. Sarah Tamar unites Mystically the Cosmic Mother with the Earth Mother, and she teaches us that there is no difference between creator and creature. She is teaching us now that it is time to stop trying to decipher the Mystery of Life, but rather, it is time to take part in the Mystery of life.

God is Mother and Father, just as Yeshua taught. God´s face as Mother wants us to join together and worship her through rites that satisfy her feminine soul, such as dancing, prayer, singing, music, peace, life, creation, sacred union and beauty.

We are experiencing a very important moment in Humanity as Spirit integrates with Matter, and Sarah Tamar is here to guide us in this Holy Communion. She is Cosmic, and she is Druid, She is Pure Energy and Vibration and She is a Gypsy Dancing barefoot, allowing her stomping feet to awaken the womb and heart of Gaia.

We will begin our practice with an invocation and prayer to Sarah Tamar. We will travel back and receive the wisdom of the Desert Teachers from the Christ Lineage. The workshop finishes with a Ritual to Sarah Tamar. This workshop is for all levels.
